Six Thanksgiving Day Phoenix Runs to Participate in This Year

This Thanksgiving Day, there is going to be plenty of runs that you can participate in to burn those calories before you eat them.  Let’s take a look at six of them that you and your friends can enjoy.

1.       Lifetime Turkey Day 5K and 10K.  This event begins at 7:30 a.m. in downtown Phoenix.  There will also be a 25 to 50 yard dash for the younger members of your family, activities, costume contests and more.  The cost is $8 to $49 and 2 non-perishables for Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

2.       Fountain Hills Turkey Trot & 5K and Fitness Walk.  The start time is 7:30 a.m. and begins at the Fountain Hills Community Center.  The cost is $10 to $30 and there will be awards to the top 2 males and top 2 females.

3.       Mesa Turkey Trot.  This run is Arizona’s oldest and it includes a 1K walk, 2 mile walk or run, and a 10K run.  This will step off in Red Mountain Park.  The Care Partnership Sequoia School for the hearing impaired will be the beneficiary.

4.       Anthem Turkey Trot.  The runners will converge on the Anthem Community Center at 6:30 a.m. for either the 10K or 5K runs.  The cost is $25 to $35 and the children’s dash is free.

5.       Thanksgiving Classic.  Choose between the 10 mile, 5K, or 1 mile fun run.  The cost is $15 to $35, free for 17 and under, and the run begins at 8 a.m. at 16101 North 83rd Avenue in Peoria.

6.       Southwest Regional YMCA Thanksgiving Triathlon/Duathlon.  There are 4 events to choose from and the kids will begin at 7a.m.  Registration will be at 6:30 a.m. at the Southwest Regional YMCA in Goodyear.
